MOTIVATION

From the time people heard the name COVID19 the fear of getting the virus has caused everyone to change the way they live life.  The constant news reports tracking the cases, variants and deaths from the virus have kept people in fear mode.  No wonder people put on their pajamas, stretch pants and comfortable clothing, and stay in the house except for necessary trips to the store.  The constant reminders of what was and the looming fear of what could possible be in the future is causing people to panic.  The fear causes people to have anxiety, get upset, become withdrawn, or act out.  This is a very unhealthy way to live.  We must break this destructive pattern we have been forced into and look for the positive and the good in life

Take action immediately to remove yourself and your children from all negativities.  Turn off the computer, television, cell phones and any other devices that are constantly interfering in calm thoughts.  Sit down and breathe in and out with deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.  Breathing deeply in this way signals the parasympathetic nervous system to calm the body down.  This purposeful deep breathing can help manage stress, decrease anxiety, fear and racing thoughts

Get out of the house and enjoy the fresh air by taking a walk, run or bike ride, even get out your roller skates or a skateboard.  Let your kids be kids and you can be a kid along side of them.  Laugh and have a good time.  This should be part of every day of your life.  Have fun and get some exercise.

Now it is time to change the way you are eating by tossing unhealthy comfort foods and fatty treats and replace them with fresh fruit and vegetables. Load up on fresh and frozen vegetables so you have them for every meal and snack.  The comfort foods that people have been eating, and overeating, since COVID19 came to our country has caused a 42% increase in undesired weight according to a recent survey by the American Psychological Association.  Weight gain can lead to obesity, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and can lead to stroke, heart attack and even cancer.  People need to turn off the negativity, take off the stretchy clothes and get back to life.
