Life is a series of events linked together with a common thread and events that are thrown your way that are unexpected. This requires flexibility and strength of the mind and body to get through everything that comes your way. There are times that you will know how to handle things and other times when you have no idea what to do. The tough times require courage, commitment, and the ability to switch gears.
In the world of cycling, it is vital to know when to switch gears to be successful especially when you approach a hill. The best thing to do is switch gears before you start climbing the hill. If you wait until you are halfway up the hill to switch gears, you will not have the necessary traction for maximum pressure on the pedals to get to the top of the hill. You will need to go back down the hill and try it again or push your bike to the top of the hill or find another path.
In daily life there are a lot of hills to climb some which you can anticipate such as working, paying the bills, and taking care of your family. The events you cannot anticipate may be an injury, illness or loss of a job and prices of necessary goods, food, gasoline, going up weekly making it hard to make ends meet. This can take a toll on your mind and body if you don’t know how to switch gears. Knowing how to successfully deal with everything that life throws at you is knowing when to change your approach. If what you ae doing is not working, try something else. Continue trying until you find something that works to solve the problem facing you. The strength you would use climbing a hill on a bike is the same inner strength you can use to deal with life’s problems. Have the flexibility to try new ways to adjust to anything life throws your way.
Switching gears is a great way to make the necessary changes to help you live a long and healthy life. Starting an exercise program and eating healthy foods will boost your immune system and give you more energy to tackle life’s difficulties and make it to the top of the hill.
