THE “F-WORD”

Everyone needs to use the F-Word daily and that stands for FIBER.  Foods that contain fiber help prevent constipation and keeps your digestive system running smooth.   High fiber foods such as fruits and vegetables are loaded with nutrients.  Foods with fiber also keep you feeling full longer which helps maintain a healthy weight and will assist in weight loss.

Fruits and vegetables contain fiber and 100% whole grains also have fiber.  Apples, bananas, raspberries, blueberries, oranges, grapefruit and other citrus fruits are high in fiber.  Breads that are made with 100% whole grains are highest in fiber.  Brown rice, split peas, black beans and other beans contain fiber.  There are many great tasting foods that contain fiber which makes it easy to get enough fiber in your diet if you are eating foods in their natural state.

Foods that are processed are low in fiber and nutrients which is a good reason to avoid or stop eating them.  Processed foods are also made with artificial ingredients, artificial flavors, artificial colors and preservatives which are not healthy.  Processed foods are also loaded with sodium.

When it is time to decide what to eat it is easy to choose foods that are good for you.  The foods that are in their natural state have more vitamins and fiber.  These foods are good for your body and also aid in your weight loss goals and will give you the energy you need throughout every day.

Love and best wishes,

Tracy
