One of the most common distractions that people get lost in is the endless clutter that comes into their lives. Whether it is mail, email, magazines, work papers or junk foods, the clutter needs to go. The piles and mountains of stuff or junk that fills up the drawers, cabinets and work areas can be overwhelming if it is not dealt with on a regular basis.
When clutter gets out of hand it becomes difficult to figure out where to start in the decluttering process. The desktop, the drawers, the countertops or the pantry. Everywhere you look there is a mess that is not just cluttering up your home and office but it is also cluttering up your mind. The mess that has been left can take over every aspect of your life and keep you from moving forward and accomplishing important tasks.
The best place to start is anywhere as long as you get started and take the first thing you can touch and throw it away or file it in an appropriate place. Being organized can greatly improve your productivity and help you to stay on task without interruptions. Every time you have to stop what you are doing to look for something or to clear off a place to work is time lost in your day. Time is one thing that you can never get back so make sure you are using every second wisely. Once you are organized make sure you keep things organized and have a system of functioning with all the clutter that comes into your life.
Clutter can also be something that drives you to overeat or eat junk foods because junk food and fast food are easy to find and easy to eat. If you are used to grabbing whatever is available and eating it without a second thought this mindless eating means extra calories and more pounds added to your body. By eliminating all the clutter of junk foods from your home and replacing them with healthy food options that are readily available you can declutter your emotional eating. Consider everything that is in your house or workplace that is not healthy as clutter and get rid of it. This clears your mind so you can focus on eating the things that are healthy for your mind and your body.
By decluttering your life you will become more productive and better able to take on everything that comes your way every day.
