HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2020

This is a great time to celebrate the holidays in a fun and healthy way.  If you have my book Healthy Meals in Minutes you know that I have a chapter called “Surviving the Holidays”.  My book was published before the COVID-19 virus struck our country and the world.  What I am teaching people is how to enjoy the holidays without going overboard.

During the holidays, many people start overeating and drinking at Thanksgiving and do not stop until January 2.   Their New Year’s Resolution is to never overeat and to stop drinking alcohol.  Losing weight and cutting out alcohol and tobacco are some of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions.

This year it is more important than ever to take great care of your health and do whatever you can to stay healthy.  Begin by making healthy choices every day when it comes to what you eat and what you put in your body.  Eating foods that are rich in vital nutrients, fruits, vegetables and legumes along with lean proteins will keep you healthy and happy.

During the holidays stick with your daily exercise and plan to get some form of exercise every day.  It does not matter if you are inside or outside as long as you do some form of exercise.  Everything from a brisk walk, run or working out at home with weights and bands counts as exercise.  You can do one form of exercise in the morning and another in the afternoon if you are pressed for time.  While you are waiting for food to cook or guests to arrive take a walk or do some exercises in your living room.  There are a lot of online exercise shows that you can use to stay motivated.

The most important part of the holidays is to enjoy the time with family and friends and make sure to have a very Happy Holiday season.

Love and best wishes,

Tracy
